All in one convenience and modularity

Hike in or drive up
Easy access
Instant modularity
Unmatched versatility

Big enough for a day trip, small enough for an evening session. With multiple setups possible you can adapt as situations change.

The most common complaints with lumbar systems stem from accessibility while carrying a net. Bring your workstation to you without the net plus the water bottle, and forget about reaching around your side.

This is the only system that allows the user to change how they configure their pack throughout the day or between outings. Join or mailing list for a heads up on new modular packs and base systems.

Adaptability is the key to success on the water. Sometimes it seems like too much effort to switch flies or to change rig setups. It definitely happens to us! Ease of use can help lessen those lazy tendencies that happen to the best of us.

We set out to design the most adaptable lumbar pack on the market and we ended up with something original. We redesigned a better way to move your attachments around on your belt without down time. It features a belt track with just the right amount of friction to prevent unwanted movement while also allowing for intentional repositioning. Whatever the demands of the day bring we've got you covered.

Q & A

What is the inspiration for the Method Modular System?

  • We recognized early on that lumbar packs and backpacks are the most comfortable way to carry gear in the field but the lack the ability for easy access. This is especially true when carrying a net. The primary inspiration for this idea comes from a desire to manage easy access with a net while not sacrificing the qualities associated with true lumbar support.

Is the Original Lumbar Pack water proof?

  • No, the pack shell is made from water resistant PU coated 420D nylon. Rain won't get your contents wet but falling into the river will.

Do your products contain PFAS?

  • No

What is the ideal use of this product?

  • When designing this product everyday use came to mind. We think for the majority of fly anglers this means walk wading 4-5 hours a day for trout. Maybe hiking a few miles to and from a river or ending up a similar distance from a parking spot before heading back. You need to be able to carry water, a net, fishing essential, and maybe a clothing item. This pack has you covered for those items. In other words we wanted to design a go-to pack for 95% of your outings.

How does the Method Modular System work?

  • The belt and the track are once peice, so they work together in tandem. The track relies on the belt for support and friction. PE board paneling on the belt side of the pack are fitted with slotted loops providing the belt-pack attachment point. These injection moulded slotted loops were designed for strength and resilience from a performance self lubricating plastic. They perform better over time.

What happens if a loop breaks?

  • We have been using the prototypes for 18 months and haven't had a single one break. Normal use should never result in breakage. However, if one does break we designed the PE board to be replaceable. Reach out to the customer service email if you need a replacement.

Are you working on more products?

  • Yes, we are currently working on a backpack, a sling pack, and a submersible lumbar pack. We are aiming for these to be n the market some time later this year.

Will new packs be able to use the same belt system?

  • Yes, when you purchase the original hard shell lumbar pack you are investing in an interchangeable system. For example our backpack belt will utilize the same Method Modular system. So as you add modular pieces to your arsenal you will be able to swap them out for whatever your session requires.

The pack looks big, its only 10L?

  • This pack has EVA foam paneling throughout so it holds its form by itself. This is why we refer to it as a hard side pack. With this design access to content is much easier because you don't have to fight with fabric to access contents. Yes some packs technically have more total space but less effective storage because much of it is lost to fabric drape.
